Room 15

    After tearful goodbyes from our internship schools, we were looking forward to traveling to Belmopan, Belize. Our trip officially began at 7:00 am Saturday morning.  Our first leg of the trip took us to Miami, Florida.  We were all shocked at how tiny the American Eagle plane was... but after a 30 minute delay we were on our way.  Delise opened the window to discover we were smack dab under the wing of the plane! Yikes! From Miami we took another plane to Belize City, Belize.  To our relief the plane was HUGE in comparison. Although this time we were on top of the wing.  Delise watched Go ON by NBC on the in flight television while Lisa began to read Time Travelers Wife.  The two hour flight flew by!  We landed in Belize City, Belize and it was time to disembark the the plane using the stairs.

    Upon arrival in Belize we were questioned about our intentions in the country and finally received our stamp in our passports.  Unfortunately, we discovered that while we had all arrived safely, our luggage had not :(  Delise, Melissa, and Lisa were all left luggage-less.  Luckily, American Airlines already knew they had left our luggage in Miami.  After filling out some paperwork to have it delivered to the Bull Frog Inn, we made our way to customs.  Without any luggage, customs was easy as they did not have much to check.  Finally, we stepped out into Belize City, Belize.

    The University of Belize provided a van to take us to the Bull Frog Inn in Belmopan, Belize.  Our first glimpse of the scenery was breathtaking.  Belize is truly a beautiful country with so much land that is undeveloped.  After an hour and a half to Miami, two hours to Belize City, and a final hour and a half to Belmopan we had arrived to The Bull Frog Inn.  Our home away from home for the next three weeks.

       The Bull Frog Inn was more Modern than we were expecting.  The bottom floor includes a restaurant, bar, and lobby.  There is even a beautiful patio area where we ate our first Belizen dinner.  The staff were welcoming and accepting of our culture and US money.  Upon checking in, it was decided that Delise and Lisa after traveling next to each other all day would room together... in Room 15.
